What’s private on Facebook an - Inflatable Obstac

Get this blog via RSS on your My Yahoo! page.

Facebook says no data was “stolen,” the site was not hacked, and that this is how the site is supposed to work.

At the same time, users are more than a bit perturbed that,Inflatable Obstacles, because of this document, they’ll probably be exposed to more spam and more malicious phishing attempts to try to obtain their login information and other personal data.

So what really is private on Facebook? What data is safe and what isn’t?

For starters, the company is right: Your name and the fact that you have a Facebook page are, by and large, unprotected from the rest of the Web. As Facebook notes in its Privacy Policy, “Such information may, for example, be accessed by everyone on the internet (including people not logged into Facebook), be indexed by third-party search engines, and be imported, exported, distributed, and redistributed by us and others without privacy limitations. Such information may also be associated with you, including your name and profile picture, even outside of Facebook, such as on public search engines and when you visit other sites on the internet.”

But more important, if you haven’t taken the time to manually update Facebook’s privacy settings, a lot more information than that is freely available online and is subject to that same lack of restriction. Anything you have marked as “Everyone” in the Facebook Privacy Settings module is open to the world, and that can indeed be dangerous.

Facebook gives you a fair amount of control over your info, but it’s up to you to change the settings and restrict certain information more tightly than Facebook does by default. That means your photos and wall posts may indeed by seen by the world unless you restrict their viewing to just Friends (or even Friends of Friends). Images may be indexed and archived by search engines, and they’re likely to be associated directly with your name.

The bottom line is the same as ever: If you don’t want something to be seen on Facebook, make absolutely sure your privacy settings are correct. And, of course,Juicy Couture shoes, the only way to truly keep something out of the hands of those you don’t want to have it is to make sure it never gets on the Internet at all.

Today’s revelation about the existence of a document that details the names, URLs, and unique Facebook IDs of 100 million of the site’s users has raised new questions about what is and what is not private on the immensely popular website.

“It was basically very similar to what you do with a Google search, but obviously under these circumstances it was not appropriate,” Cole said.

“Who would want to be with the same person for 80 years? Why not break it up a little bit?” Diaz tells Stylist.

Yigal Azrouël’s Postcard Fro Wholesale NFL Jersey

Day 2 was a day packed with back-to-back press meetings and TV interviews,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, but I did manage to get to see St. Andrew’s Church and walk down Andreevsky Spusk—Kiev’s version of the Montmartre—through the local markets selling Matryoshky and Nevoloshky dolls and all things military (below).brand clothing,Wholesale Abercrombie shoes clothing, including gas masks and parachute jumpsuits. wholesale and then, after only 38 hours in Kiev, it was off to Moscow.wholesale clothing.

Yigal Azrouël recently wrapped up a whirlwind tour of Eastern Europe, where he showed his collection in Kiev in the Ukraine wholesale and hopped over to Moscow for meetings with his Russian clientele. Below, the Israeli-born, New York-based designer dropped us a note from the road.

Going to Eastern Europe proved to be the eye-opening experience that I was hoping for—once I got there. We arrived a day late because of the volcanic ash, and got to Kiev just five hours before my fashion show, staged for 700 people in the beautiful and historic St. Sophia square in the old city (below)—so that was a bit hectic. The show was hosted by the Helen Marlen Fashion Group, and checking into the new Hyatt on the square, it was exciting to look out the window and see the final touches of the production while they finished erecting the tent for the 20-piece orchestra. Putting the show together in that short a time was certainly stressful, but it went on without a glitch and the Kievites expressed their love of both fashion and New York to me afterwards. We enjoyed a late dinner at the hottest new restaurant in town, the OK Bar, and got a taste of the nightlife at Club Crystal. Kievites have an incredible enthusiasm for all things new and fashionable, which extends through all aspects of their lifestyle.

Pulling into the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow is basically pulling into the Red Square. It was so exciting to be able to peek through archways and see the square looming on the other side. My first afternoon was mostly focused on visiting clients, and one thing I can say is that they love luxury here!hdmi hdmi cable hdmi cable I also appreciate that the stores stay open until 10 p.m. everyday; shopping is an important pastime for the Muscovites. We had a great meal at Mr. Lee—allegedly the Mr. Chow of Moscow—and strolled through the streets, finishing with a night cap at the top of the Ritz overlooking an incredible view of Moscow. The next day was filled with more meetings, but there was no way I was leaving Moscow without some cultural sightseeing. I stole two hours to walk through the Red Square (above left) and the Kremlin, where I was able to squeeze in a quick tour of the Armory Museum and see some outrageous articles from the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries, including Fabergé eggs, horse carriages from the czars, jewels, crowns, and wardrobes. Those were clearly decadent times! I also had perfect timing and got to view the changing of the guards. My last meal, surrounded by five friends and colleagues, was at an exquisite traditional Russian restaurant, Pushkin. It was the perfect ending to this trip exploring a unique and vibrant part of Europe.

“Rich” is the word Carol Lim and Humberto Leon kept coming back to as they described the Fall ‘10 Opening Ceremony collections this morning.wholesale clothing. Fur—a new addition to the line—felt rich, too.brand clothing, but the debut material given the most play for Fall, and tricked out in the largest variety of ways, was velvet. Velvet turned up on laced boots (both from the OC label,Wholesale Christian Audigier clothing, pictured, and from the expanded Opening Ceremony par Robert Clergerie line ), and it got quilted for a group of soignée separates fit for hipster Marie Antoinettes. (The association may not be coincidental: In September, Opening Ceremony launches its “France” year.) But anyone laying bets on the OC must-haves for the coming season would be well advised to consider the printed velvet items previewed today, notably, the lace-up ankle boots, Peter Pan-collared minidress, and asymmetrical skirt that all came in either a blue or pink-toned abstract velvet print. This isn’t the first velvet we’ve seen from designers this season, wholesale and it won’t be the last. Is it the wave of the future? Many of the editors snapping shots today certainly seemed convinced.
